DIY Zigzag Mirror
I've had this old mirror for years, and I've never really liked it. Too foo foo. And while I've actually driven it to Goodwill TWICE on donation trips, I could never bring myself to get rid of a perfectly good mirror. So I thought I'd try giving it a little update, take the frilly bite out of it a little.
I knew I wanted to do something graphic to contrast with the frame, so I thought I'd try a frosted zigzag/chevron pattern.
After cleaning the dust off of it, I measured out my grid and drew my zigzag pattern on the glass with a felt pen.
Next I masked every other row off with painters tape.
I sprayed the mirror with a couple of coats of frosted glass spray paint (just a few bucks at any old craft store). I didn't bother taping off the frame before I sprayed. After the frosted paint dried for a few minutes, I pulled off the tape and I went in with a brush and painted the frame black with some acrylic paint.
I do wish the zigzags were shifted over two inches so they were Ws instead of Ms. The Ms look like they are frowning to me. Regardless, I think this old fancy pants mirror may have finally earned a spot on the wall.

LOVE IT! Great job, I loved it frilly and I love it remodeled too!
Thank you!! It was fun to take a couple of hours away from the crazy and bust out the crafty. :)
LOVE this.
As you know, I have roughly 736 mirrors in my house. This one is HOT.
What if it look like Halo in the end? What you doing then?
This looks pretty like flower. I like mirror.
@PWeekly: Thanks bud! I thought of all your gold mirrors when I was working on this.
@Anonymous: Quit trolling my blog, Matthew! :)

wauuuuu neatooo!
LOL. Tom I just now saw this comment. Thanks bud!
I am like PWeekly in that of being a "mirror-aholic", and think this one is so fab. You stated that you wish the design looked like w's instead of m's. Wonder what would happen if you would take the mirror out of the frame, and rotate it.
