Fun Little Goodies

Adding to my ever growing list of Crap I Want To Master But Don't Have Time For... I picked up a couple of awesome books recently.

The first is Heather Ross's Weekend Sewing that was featured on just about every site I go to. Lots of super cute little projects (pjs, purses, dresses, blankets, on and on), and plenty of it is on the easy side for noobies like me, Vicki Nooberts. As an aside, whoever designed this book gets an A. It looks great, very clean and designerly while still being cute. Heather Ross's fantastic blog can be found here.

The other book I grabbed is Chic & Simple Sewing by Christine Haynes (check out her website here). This one has a great section in the front that covers lots of basics and has some nice tips for beginners. It's mostly dresses and skirts, but really all stuff that looks wearable and not too tricky to pull of.

I also received my first genuinely LOCAL Local Harvest order, organic lavender! This bunch came from Purple Haze Lavender in Sequim, WA. I've had the box sealed and on a shelf for a few of days and could still smell the goods. I have my older sissy to thank for my love of lavender. She always has some in a little bud vase in her bathroom, and I'm totally baby sistering her style.

I LOVE lavender too!!!

Tommy & Lindsey visited a lavender farm in A and promises to take me soon!

What are you going to do with your 'local harvest'?

Ooooh! I have seen pictures of some lavender farms, they are gorgeous!

I think I'm going to put a few little vases of it around the house, and and stick the rest in little pouches in my dresser.
